Why Do We Need Protein Powders?
November 4, 2009 in all, foodsupplements, nutrition by advisor
As we can see there are so many companies making protein powders coming in forms like egg protein, whey protein, soy protein, wheat proteinetc. All these proteins have got different kind of properties and uses. All these proteins are used by enthusiasts whether they are doing weight training for gain mass, weight reduction or just fitness.
The first question is WHY? Everybody knows the importance of protein for our health and protein becomes more important for those people who are doing resistance exercises or want to reduce body weight. For more detail for this follow this link http://bodybuildingaz.com/blog/how-much-protein/
Well this article is all about the importance of protein. But the question is why we use protein powders when we can get protein from eggs, chicken or milk products?
For someone who wants to reduce fat and gain some muscle definition, the diet should be high on protein and low on fat and carbs. By including eggs, chicken and milk in the diet and cutting the fat intake does fulfills the protein needs and surely can lead to reduction of weight, but not that much. The reason, unknowing to most, is that the same diet is also high on fat and carbs. Surprised ???? Well the whole egg or egg white , contains not only protein but also fat, which goes the same for chicken or milk. So in order to consume high protein one goes for lot of eggs, chicken and milk but side by side is ingesting lots of fat also, which we all know is not good. At such a time, protein powder becomes a necessity. Protein powder makes a diet high on protein and also without/less fat. I am not saying that you should stop eating whole foods. They are also important but in order to get high protein and low fat diet one must add protein powders in the routine. It will help you to become fit and to achieve your goals.
Just once calculate if you want 18 gm protein, you take 4 eggs for that but with protein you take 16 gm of fat also. On the contrary in a scoop of protein powder you find 22-24 gm protein with approx. 1-2 gm of fat only (it depends on company and the type of protein). So add protein powders in your diet and exercise routine for optimum results.

Yes you can take protein, it don’t have any side effects. But if your body responds without supplements then their is no need. First of all let your body grow naturally and then add supplements if needed.
