Physical fitness is an enhanced physiological, or functional, capacity that provides you with improved quality of life. Quality of life refers to a general sense of wellness, a positive outlook, and enthusiasm for life; routine tasks are done without undue fatigue or strain. When your body is physically fit is has an enhanced ability to mobilize and utilize energy sources. In addition, a lowered resting heart rate usually accompanies enhanced physical fitness. The heart rate at any given work load is generally lower in the physically fit person as compared to the less-conditioned individuals.
There are mainly five components of physical fitness:
- Body composition
- Cardiorespiratory fitness
- Flexibility
- Muscular endurance
- Muscular strength
For example a person is having good flexibility but his muscles are not strong he even can’t perform heavy work, his muscular strength is not good. On other side one person is full of muscles his strength is just like a giant but his ability to run and his flexibility is poor, so we can say that both persons are not physically fit. If a person wants fitness so it should be good in all 5 components of physical fitness.
But now days people relate fitness with six pack abs, if you don’t have this, so that mean you are not fit. This type of thinking is completely wrong. Every man want physique like bullet (lean and sharp six pack abs), women wants size zero, for that they ready to do anything no matter what. They just want to be slim, they cut their meals and they don’t drink enough water, they do all that in wrong way. You must understand the little difference between slim body and underweight body.
